While working at Rogers, I lead the Sportsnet.ca NHL web development team through a revamp of front facing user experiences which included adopting new frameworks like Bootstrap. During the entire process, I provided proposals and recommendation of development-related changes to management and stakeholders.

  • Backend optimization work resulted in a 90 percent reduction in database workload to bolster performance, stability and availability to Sportsnet web application users.
  • Maintained cost flexibility during the transition from the Sportsnet.ca legacy theme to the modern hockey-centric theme by building a dynamic WordPress theme switch plugin.
  • Lead upgrade efforts to upgrade the Sportsnet.ca CMS from WordPress 3 to WordPress 4.

In spite of the unique differences in each section, the backend content management tools and data sources remained unified for a seamless experience for editors and producers of the brand.
