The Unconventional Fairy Godmother
They call them "good" faeries. But if you ask this particular faerie, they're nothing more than meddling, short-sighted idiots with a naive obsession with 'true love'. She's got the PR department of the fae world to thank for that saccharine reputation.
Take Cinderella and Prince Charming. Oh, an uplifting story, isn't it? What they don't tell you is that the Prince bailed on an arranged marriage to a neighboring princess, which ultimately led to a failed alliance and a devastating war for his kingdom. While Cinderella and her prince lived 'happily ever after,' their kingdom nearly fell, relying on sturdy oak to hold it together. They even suggested imprisoning an inconvenient step-daughter in a desolate tower for the 'greater good'. Frankly, some beautiful idiots don't find their true love, and the rest of the world is better for it.
She scoffs at the notion of fairy tales. 'I'll take the epithets,' she declares, a glint of defiance in her striking blue eyes. 'I'll wear the badge of 'bad' faerie with pride. Besides, I look terrible in pink taffeta.'
This is the Bad Faerie. She's not here to grant wishes; she's here to offer a dose of harsh reality, disguised in sarcasm and a flair for dramatic, albeit less magical, interventions. Her career isn't about making dreams come true, but about puncturing the bubble of unrealistic expectations, one 'happily ever after' at a time. She's a pragmatist in a world of fantasy, and she wouldn't have it any other way.
