Archive Lore
Brooklyn Sänger. The name itself crackles with an electric energy, much like the woman who bears it. She didn't need to sell her soul for success – she had chops and drive to spare. Her music, a raw blend of gothic rock and primal screams, could move mountains. Or, in her case, create a legion of adoring fans. But fame has its price, and for Brooklyn, that price was paid in blood. Not her own, initially. A deranged fan, after a sellout gig at MSG, bit her, claiming he had given her the 'gift' of eternal life. He wasn't entirely wrong, though 'deranged' is more fitting than 'eternal'.
This wasn't the romantic vampirism of old. Brooklyn's 'gift' was something far more primal, a dark hunger that threatened to consume her. With a void where her soul used to be, she found her music changed. When she plays, the instrument becomes an extension of her very being, absorbing the crowd's adoration, restoring her soul for a fleeting while. It's a dangerous dance, this rock and roll life. She now knows vampires exist, preying on humanity like smug, parasitic goths, and she feels a primal urge to stop them. But every performance, every desperate cry for power, carries the risk of her joining them, of losing herself to the darkness forever. Still, what's rock and roll without a little pressure? She pushes the boundaries, pouring her vampiric anguish into every chord, driving away those she loves before she can hurt them, a solitary figure on a stage bathed in stage lights and a haze of smoke, forever playing the game between salvation and damnation.
